Received it and let it sit upright unplugged for 24 hours before I used it as I do with all refrigerate products. Powered it up following evening and fill to the line with distilled water and set to small. After few minutes it produced some ice cones, first few where ultra small as it was getting to temp. After the third dispense it was perfect size and in less than an hour basket was full and when it’s full it pauses until ya dump it, which is great. Great product made 22-26 pounds of ice in 10-12 hours

Love the ease of use and small counter footprint. Red is beautiful. I use filtered water but it’s not necessary. You can open and grab ice before the basket is full, so you can have cubes for one drink in 9 minutes. The cubes (large and small) fit into a typical water bottle opening. You can leave cubes in basket and machine will keep them frozen, but not frozen forever. After a few hours the cubes will melt into reservoir and refreeze into new cubes.

I disinfected the ice machine, added water, and set it up per instructions. I used ice-cold water and the Large setting, and my first batch of ice was ready in just a few minutes. Really neat. The unit is quite loud in operation, akin to a hair dryer on low setting. But I’m going to keep it under a counter so it won’t really matter long term. I’m also going to use filtered water, as I know the hard water from my city would cause buildup.For a first usage, this machine is tremendous. I’ll try to update if I have any issues, but I’m going to allow the unit to go through its first fill of water as a cleaning cycle before I make use of the ice. So far, so good.

At first it worked great. Then about 20 days in the ice was melting. I contacted the vendor and ZERO response. I had already purchased a 2nd one for a friend too. I never post negative reviews but I want to warn people. I ordered this ice maker which looked so nice. It didn’t work. I tried everything suggested and was on multiple phone calls with customer service who at the time was very responsive. They asked me to send them a video of it not working. I felt warm air and no ice was made. A couple weeks later a new ice maker came. I was so excited to finally have ice. That day ice was made. By the next morning all of the ice was melted and no new ice was made. Hot air was coming out of the fan. I tried letting it rest a few days to see if that worked but I could not get it working. I called customer service on two separate times to work with me and have yet to receive a call back. I am really disappointed in this product. Im going back to using old fashioned ice cube trays I guess. One star is only because the color red is cool

My daughter wanted an ice maker for her college apartment. It seems to work great, she tells me it stays full of ice and had not failed once. So I’d say this is a good product and worth the price.EDIT – So after 6 months oil (or some time of brown liquid) started to leak into the Ice chamber. When I contacted the warranty dept. they had me send pictures and a video etc…which is fine….BUT they would not fix or replace the unit….they would give me a 50% refund….that is crazy!!! Oh and by the way I even paid for an extended warranty form Allstate….what a joke, they just told me it’s still under manufactures warranty…I have to go back to them!!!! What a great find! I waited a long time before buying a portable ice maker. Really happy with this one. I was never a fan of ice at all, really, I hated how ice would change the flavor of things I was drinking. We bought this one after a lot of research and fellow RVer’s recommendations. We do like the portability of this one! When out in our TT (travel trailer) we can make ice and take it into the house when home. Few thoughts on making ice:1). Have patience, the first or second drops of ice will be smaller than later on.2) Use as clean water as possible for best results. We take the water from our dispenser and run it through a Brita filer pitcher.3) place the unit is as open a space as possible, there are two vents you need to keep clear of. (Intake and a warm discharge)4) let it work with out opening and removing ice.5) the basket holds a lot of ice, the smaller beginners will melt back into the water tank6) One tank of water will make about (depending on your choice of ice size) 2-3 gallon zip bags of iceEnjoy it, we have!

Works great. I did follow the directions and wash it out theoughly before I used it. Then I filled it with water and let it make all the ice it could with one batch of water. I disposed of that batch and started making ice to use. I didn’t notice any unsavory flavers or odors to ice by doing it this way.I am a little disappointed that I can’t really make as much ice with it as I originally intended. Yes technically it will make a lot of ice in a day, but the basket fills quickly and you’d have to be constantly be attendeding it to empty basket or refill water… whose gonna do that? I bought this item to replace having to fill ice trays and free up space in freezer. Ice in my household is a must and I was tired of getting bummed out by forgetting to fill the trays when I wanted a cold drink. So I decided to invest in this little machine that would fit on my counter with limited space. Oh boy was I excited to get ot out of the box and start making cubes. After setting it up which was so easy (don’t forget to remove all the pieces of tape inside) I had beautiful ice in less than 10 min. I use water from my Britta filter, hit the switch, selected small or big cubes, and there they were! The only time I hear it is when I leave it on and it collects the melted cubes I don’t use and makes more. The sound of the cubes hitting the tray may be loud for some people but it makes no difference to me since my ht system is always on. Clever kitchen tool for parties too since you can make lots of ice and bag it up in your freezer. Perfectly priced for what I wanted to spend too!

The ice bullet size is great can fit in a bag for easy storage and not so bulky to squeeze into small spaces in freezer to store. The taste is so fresh not like freezer ice cubes. UPDATE ** I never got my money back , they never fixed nor sent me a new one. The warranty listed in the description is bogus. Sent video, photos and am stuck with a broken machine. Not worth the money or the time wasted on all the month back and forth emails. They waste your time so the Amazon dispute expires.Purchased in Sept, thought it was great. As I do every year, I unplug everything and visit my son in Colorado. After two months away, I plug in my ice machine to find a loud noise and tiny see throw chips. The machine is not working as before so I cleaned it again but still no ice just little chips of melted mess. Even on large setting. Notified seller who had me make video and send video somewhere else, @ lucy Brown company, only to wait a week for the IT team to tell me to ‘unplug machine wait 10 minutes and plug it back in’.
What part of it has been unplugged and unused for months do they not understand. Still doesn’t work. Trash it goes, warranty doesn’t mean anything to this seller. I want a replacement and they can have this one to do their investigations as to why it doesn’t work.

I’ve only had this a few days and only used it once. Worked great. Easy to use. You do get ice in under 10 minutes, one cycle, but you have to wait for about 3 cycles for enough for one drink. So start it up early. I only use ice once a day for an Iced Mocha. I just let it run till full, didn’t time it, but aprox. several hours. Put the Ice in a zip lock in the fridge. 3-6 days of ice. The size of the cubes are perfect. When I use the last of the ice in the freezer I start another batch. No more of those cubes that have been in the freezer for months at the bottom of the ice tray. Don’t know yet how it will hold up over time but if it quits I’ll update my review.I’m adding an update, April 12, 2022. Still working great.

With so many very positive and very negative reviews for each option, we decided to go lower budget to find out if an ice maker was something we’d like.General Info:* Read the directions. They are pretty clear.* Be sure to get the tape in the back by where the ice is made. I almost missed it.* The maker takes about ten cups of water to get to the fill line. I used filtered water.* It really does give you your first ice cubes in 6 minutes, and immediately starts to work again.* You can adjust ice cube size. Ice cubes are clear and are hollow bullets. They are pretty chewy. I’ve never had sonic ice, so can’t compare.* Here’s how it basically works: Water is taken in from the bottom. It cycles up/back into the ice maker section, where the freezing process starts. When the ice cubes are done, they drop into the basket and the process starts again.Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Ice, Good Quality Ice, Water seems to not need refilling oftenCons: It’s not *quiet*. The feeding system requires a fan, and it sounds like a fan working at high speed. I got this product in June. It’s still making ice like a little…ICE MACHINE…but the low water sensor no longer works. That would possibly be a problem if I left it on and unattended.

It set up easily and I have been using it daily since I received it. I tried the small cubes but they are much too small for what I need them for. The large cubes were a surprise. Not quite as large as I expected but work well. Being smaller than refrig cubes, they tend to melt faster. Otherwise, it works quite well and I am happy with this. I was very tired of using refrig. trays!

I wish I bought this years ago. It makes enough ice for two people to keep their water bottles full all day long. Continuous production means we never run out and ice fits in every type of bottle we have.It’s also great if your tap water or freezer makes ice with an “off” taste. I use a lot of ice throughout the day and got tired of making ice in my refrigerator freezer, found it annoying to keep refilling trays. I decided to try this ice maker. I figured it wouldn’t be too good because they do not keep the ice cold. Wow! Was I pleasantly surprised. I set the ice size for Large. The first three batches came out quickly. The ice was small and rather thin, but I was satisfied. When the fourth batch came out the ice bullets were fatter and much larger. Since then all the ice has been large and lasts a long time in a glass before melting. I think the refrigerant needed to settle from being transported by the mail carrier. Within 3 hours I filled up a one gallon freezer bag with ice. I keep it for backup. I just let the ice stay in the ice maker basket and scoop out what I need all day. It lasts a very long time and I have never run out of ice just scooping it from the machine. It is very quiet. I highly recommend this product. If you get one let it sit upright 2 hours before plugging it in so the Freon can settle. Don’t judge the ice till the third or fourth batch comes out.

And taadaa I had ice. It makes bullet shaped ice that is hollow in the middle. As the ice is used or melts it makes more. I have no complaints at all. It doesn’t make a huge amount of ice, maybe 64oz a batch. It’s pretty quiet running. The ice makes a plink sound when it drops down.

We bought this to use at home when it is hot because our fridge ice maker is small and my husband uses a lot of ice in his drinks. We were also thinking we could use it in our small travel trailer when we go camping. It is very easy to use, the color is so pretty, and it matches my red kitchen well. You just pour the water in the compartment (we used a Britta pitcher to do so), and then wait a few minutes for the first pieces of ice to fall into the bucket. It is quick and not super loud. I think within an hour, we probably had at least a cup or two of ice. It keeps going until the water has run out. The lights are handy to find out what size ice you are making and the status of it. The “large” ice takes longer to make and is just thicker than the “small” ice. I think it will come in handy, especially in the summer and is worth the money.We left the lid open so it will dry out between uses, so I hope it will not get moldy like some people talked about in the reviews. Since we dump the fresh ice cubes into a bucket in our kitchen freezer to keep for later, we ordered a metal scoop to use. The plastic scoop it came with was thin and not super helpful because the ice cubes were fairly wet and stuck together after they refroze.

So, I had the idea to get this rather than hassling with making ice cubes. I was wrong…. This ice cube maker is high maintenance. If you don’t use the ice cubes right away, they melt. The idea is that they melt and the water gets recycled to make more ice cubes. But what’s left over becomes a big glob of ice. The machine is not quiet either. You know its working. The machine stops when its full or it runs out of water, then the melting begins. When the water runs out it makes a loud suction noise. You have to turn it on and off for it to stop. I gave it 3 stars because it does what its suppose to do… it makes ice. From researching other brands in this price range, they all work this way. To get one that actually keeps the ice cold you would have to pay around $500. Im not quite sure what this machine would be good for. Buying a bag of ice and putting it in a styrofoam cooler would give you the same results if you want it for camping. I returned mine and filled up the ice cube trays!

We have found that we like the bigger size ice cubes better and we are able to store a quantity in the RV freezer for use as we need it. We bought ours a month or so ago. I’ve used it every day! We have also taken it camping twice. It’s well designed and well made. While camping in 90 degree weather just plugged it into the campground power, had constant ice all day right on the picnic table. What I like the most is that I just pour in more water from a gallon jug of high quality water we bring with us. I don’t trust campground water. This thing cranks out ice pellets, once it gets going. Like any refrigerated item, takes about 40 minutes to get to full throttle from first start. I unplug ours at night, pellets just melt back into the reservoir and I turn it back on in the a.m. Highly recommend this ice maker!

I bought this ice maker hoping for chewable ice. I didn’t expect Sonic ice, and it’s not (more on that at the end.) The biggest problem is the machine doesn’t keep the ice cold. There’s no refrigeration inside besides the little parts that form the ice nuggets. So the ice in the basket slowly melts and sticks together. We tried emptying it and storing it in the freezer, but it still stuck together. Unless you can use up the ice as fast as it’s made, you end up with a frozen ball in the basket eventually.Because the cubes are hollow (like a thimble shape) they melt incredibly quickly in your drink, leaving behind thin pieces and mostly water. They’re also less efficient at cooling your drink. You could try adding more ice, which will just water down your drink more. So we couldn’t find a good use for this ice maker unless you really need portable ice somewhere. Cubes are superior in every way.About chewable ice: ice cubes are notoriously bad for your teeth. The hollow nuggets produced by this machine are much easier to chew than regular cubes, but there’s a thick end, so I’m not sure it’s 100% safe. Fans of Sonic ice know that it’s soft and easy to chew because it’s extruded (basically shaved ice formed into nuggets.) I was hoping for a reasonable alternative, but for the reasons above, this ice maker didn’t fit the bill. As far as I can tell, the cheapest machine that makes extruded ice is the GE Opal which costs several times more.

I am 76 and I have had surgery on both shoulders, so I needed a countertop icemaker so I didn’t have to haul bags of ice home. I like this icemaker January 27 and it works well. My problem is that it looks like the bottom corner of it near the drain spout is not flush with the red part and leaks a tiny bit, causing corrosion. It doesn’t seem to be enough to drip on the countertop, but I can envision problems down the road. I bought the extended warranty, but at my age and physical condition, I don’t know now that I would be able to box it up and send it back for a replacement. I don’t feel like I should have to be dealing with this. However, if you’re looking for an icemaker that works well and looks good, I would recommend this as long as it didn’t come with a defect like mine.

This machine works well. I would advise that if you want ice for a party to start the machine early. It takes about 30 minutes to see a good amount of ice. It also melts quickly so if you freeze it lay it flat on a tray or it will stick together.

I love this countertop ice maker! It didn’t take up a lot of counter space and it’s fairly quiet… but loud enough to hear when the ice drops. I’ve gotten it timed to approximately 1 hour to make a full basket of ice and the red light comes on. So, I just fill it to the max line, set a timer, and get on with whatever I’m doing. I usually fill up my freezer ice bin twice a week…about 4 hours per fill. To drain it between uses, I simply pull it to the edge of the counter and use a bowl…no need to really pick up the machine at all. It’s so much better than buying bags of ice weekly for about $6 (I eat a lot of ice). Love it!

This thing is super useful. I Put it on my wet bar and plug it in twice a week for boardgame night with the group. It’s fast enough for casual use. I dry it out at the end of the night with a paper towel and leave the lip slightly open to finish air drying; it stays sparkling clean with no mold as others have reported. No moisture = no problems.The drawback I see is that there’s zero chance of saving the ice in your own freezer. It holds I’ve long enough in its own tray, but it really is wet ice. Putting it in the colder freezer just creates a giant block. This is an ice maker, not an ice storage solution. The only cold parts are the stainless steel bits that make the ice. Again – not a freezer. It’s great!

I got one use out of this thing. Unplugged it and left it in a cabinet for a few months then tried to use it again. Water got everywhere. When it is sucking up water the machine takes maybe 10% of it then dumps the rest all over the counter. It still makes ice but it’s not worth having to clean up 3-4 cups of water off of the counter each time it makes a batch of ice.

I move the rest of the ice to my freezer and I power it off until I need more ice. The cubes taste great, just like my well water.

I’m so happy to finally have an ice maker with summer just around the corner. So my initial ice maker I received was defective and didn’t work at all, I sent the company a message and immediately I was contacted by their customer service, after a quick exchange they had a new replacement sent to me. That service alone is worth more then the machine. So after plugging in my new Ice maker, it started making ice In about 13 mins. I like the ice because it’s crunchable and semi soft, but not to the point where it will melt right away (hope that made sense). So buy yours with confidence, you won’t regret it!
STAR STRUCK –
It has made great ice since we got it. Suddenly it kept saying it was full when it wasn’t. I looked inside to find what was wrong. The paddle that moves the ice from the back to the front into the basket has come unhooked from one side. I tried to snap it back into place, but it wouldn’t stay on. It didn’t look broken. I tried for some time to snap it back down. Couldn’t do it. It would still make great ice but it couldn’t push it into the basket and the machine thought it was full because the ice would block the sensor. I texted the kismile company about replacing the part. I got a reply immediately. They said they would be glad to replace the part and talk me through replacing it into the machine. They called me a few days later and said it’s the Chinese holidays and would take a very long time to get the part. She asked if I would be agreeable to them refunding my purchase price and they would still send me the part. But reminded me it would take a very long time to get the part. I said yes. They refunded the full price right away. They were so quick to respond and we’re so friendly I was impressed. They really went out of their way with calling me and speaking personally with me. I’m sure they’ll send the part and I would not be afraid of ordering from them again! The customer service made this a 5 star! Thank you!

My mom got this for my dad for Christmas because we’re constantly buying ice. I was given the job of finding the right one, and this seemed to have some solid reviews and wasn’t insanely priced so we took a chance on it. We got the red one because, honestly, it was the cheaper version of the three colors.It really is an awesome little machine! I was a little worried it couldn’t keep up with our ice use but it actually does a great job. Plug it in and check it every once in awhile to remove the ice and it will build up a good supply in no time. It’s pretty quiet, too.Taste-wise I guess depends on what you use. We’re just using tap water but I haven’t even noticed anything.Overall I would definitely recommend this machine. We’ve been using it a lot over the past month so we’ll see how well it stands up to heavy use, but so far so good!

Works just like I expected. While the cubes aren’t huge, they are decent and as long as you dump it often and place the cubes in the freezer, it works great. It really does create a lot of ice in a short amount of time…just as is advertised.

This is an awesome little ice maker for your counter. My freezer is tiny and I’m sick of freezer burnt ice trays, so this was a perfect purchase. It can be a bit noisy when it cycles ice, so I unplug it when I go to bed. The ice pieces are the perfect texture, not too hard, great for chewing. There are two sizes of cube options, small and large. If you enjoy ice on hand at all times, I highly recommend this ice maker!

Cool and very useful product. Ran some test batches and it was a breeze. Makes enough ice but on the first cycle the ice is small even if you chose the large option. So I dump it back in and it melts and I have had zero mechanical problems. The fan is quiet not to loud. I don’t use the ice scoop it’s a small cheap scoop.

I bought this ice maker when our in-fridge ice maker couldn’t keep up with my pregnancy demands for crushed ice. I really wanted a pellet ice machine, but at $500+, this was a practical compromise. I planned to take the ice from this machine and put it in our fridge unit to be crushed into easy to crunch pieces. To my delight, I found they these “cubes” (they’re not cube shaped) are usually soft and crunchable right from the machine. The unit is quiet, except the expected noise of ice dropping. The ice cubes, even on small settings, are far larger than pellet ice, but because they’re soft and crunchable, I don’t mind. Love love love this icemaker.

Been using this ice maker consistently for about 3 weeks now. I purchased the ice maker back in July and used it occasionally for about 2 weeks, it worked great for small dinner parties.About 3 weeks ago I started using the ice maker more often, making 1-2 batches of ice per day and that’s when I ran into issues.After about 3 weeks of using it consistently, I did as I normally do and filled the ice maker in the morning when I woke up, went to the gym and when I came back there was about 1/2 gallon of water sitting on my floor. I thought it was odd but didn’t put the blame on the ice maker. I looked into the machine and there was no ice and no water, I turned the machine over and there were 2 large holes in the piping underneath the machine, letting all of the water escape.Long story short, I was never hard on this machine and never made more than a few batches per day, the ice maker sat in the same spot on the same table the whole time I had it, and never did more than move it over to a new spot on the table.This isn’t a horrible ice maker, but this definitely isn’t one that you should buy and expect to be super reliable. I recommend spending the extra money and buy something more reliable.

This ice maker is just what we needed. We have a small freezer compartment in our refrigerator, and having ice cube trays took up needed space. I love everything about this ice machine except for the black stuff it keeps growing inside the water Tank. I have cleaned it thoroughly. I went on Amazon and asked what this black stuff is? Someone told me it is algae. They recommended I clean it thoroughly with vinegar or Bleach. They told me to go on YouTube to see how to clean. So I did. I cleaned it thoroughly. A few hours later the black stuff/Algae was growing back. It’s a real shame because I really like this machine. I am going to return it.Update: I realized after I got a new ice machine that the black stuff is from the filter in my Brita water pitcher. This ice machine is a beautiful color and worked fine. But ice machines are a lot of work. They need to be cleaned regularly! Weekly.

I’ll start off by saying I’m pretty much an alcoholic. My go to drink is vodka and seltzer water. I’m on my third as I’m writing this review right now. I bought this machine because our fridge doesn’t have an ice maker and I’m tired of buying ice every week. Plus, if I don’t have to buy ice every week, I have more money to buy vodka. Two weeks in and this thing keeps up with my raging alcoholic lifestyle. Pumps out out nine ice cubes at a time, but keeps my 32 ounce glass of vodka and Waterloo nice and full of succulent bits of ice cubes. It’s so fun to watch operate, that even when I’m not drinking yet, mostly in the morning hours, I run it and bag the ice in case I need an emergency drink. It makes two different sized cubes, but I run the larger ones only. You are supposed to clean it before you use it, but your standards go down when you’re a drunk, so I just put this bad boy to work right away. It will be great for our camper too, cause I always get drunk when we are camping. Would recommend.

It’s hot it’s summer and ice sells fast but we have a never ending supply now. Do have to monitor a little to empty full basket and refill water reservoir.But with a house of 8 we never run out of ice. No funny taste medium size round cubes take as much space as a coffee machine. Great value for the price pays for it self in 3months

I was skeptical about this one because it is a good price and I didn’t recognize the brand. My family loves it!!! I leave it on 24/7 and pour fresh water in when it’s low. It makes a little bit of noise when it makes fresh ice but you get used to it and it’s not disturbing. I’ve had it for about 8 months and I would recommend this little gem to anyone!!
