Bought these as a gift. Receiver is very, very happy. Easy to charge and use. Fold up nicely for storage. Fast and easy to handle on turns. Happy it has a head and tail light for safety. Smooth ride with 10 inch tires.

I didn’t expect to love this so much, but I’m zooming around quite a bit. The battery life is way exaggerated though. On s mode i got maybe three miles.

The product it self is amazing ! I love riding it, I will say it has less mileage than it says with full battery. The rise is amazing and in general works perfect. I used to go to my private clients and go around it works great battery goes fast but I usually charged over night and it last enough for me to get done with what I need to. I believe they could improve the mileage and battery life.

The scooter we bought is reliable, sturdy and can handle heavier weight. It was definitely worth paying a little bit extra for this product.

Bought a bunch of these. Have to register the vehicle on the app or it’s locked at half performance. App won’t let you register or login. My kid’s razor e100 is faster than this $1000 brick.

    Calbee QCalbee Q – February 25, 2021

This scooter is absolutely wonderful, The scooter works well for my short daily commute, and is easy to wipe down and maintain. The assembly is very simple, I only need 10 minutes to complete it, this one can download the app to connect to the phone, the connected app is very cool, but I don’t use the app, I don’t need it personally! The scooter itself is definitely made of strong and high-quality materials, the tires are 10-inch inflatable models, and a new tire has been delivered! There are instructions, screwdrivers and some small accessories in the box!The Segway Ninebot F40 has a top speed of 18.6 mph, a maximum cruising range of 25 miles on a single charge, and a maximum load of 220 pounds. The powerful output of 350W can make climbing better! 10-inch pneumatic tires have a good shock absorption effect. Even on rugged terrain or rough surfaces, they can make riding more stable and stable. This F40scooter also has 3 riding modes, and the preset speed limit is 9.3 mph Eco, 18.6 mph standard and 18.6 mph sports. The screen will show you how much battery you have, along with your current set speed (between 1-3), whether you have your dual motor on or off, as well as your actual mph speed while you are riding it.I really like how it rides and all of the safety features. It is light and folded up and was easily stored and carried in my car trunk!

    Keith – March 27, 2021

I purchased this for my son who commutes to his grad classes and lab. He loves it. With its light weight and folding handle, he can just carry it into the buildings (and up stairs) to keep it secure. He also likes the water resistant feature that very few other scooter models offer. There is no problem going up hills which was one of my concerns after reading several reviews here. The charge easily lasts him a week of back and forth to campus which, depending on where he goes that day, is 1-2 miles each way. Another positive for downtown riding on the sidewalks or the street is the shock absorbing ability of the pneumatic tires, which he says is smoother than the solid rubber tires on other scooters he has ridden. A confidence builder for my decision to purchase this model was the brand. Segway is a real, established company vice the no-name ones to which I was comparing it. The only drawback I can mention is the price. It is definitely higher cost than some other models.

    Andrew L. – April 1, 2021

It’s a good scooter, but for the price I shouldn’t almost break my hand every time I want to collapse the scooter to store in a classroom during class as a college student. Range, speed, acceleration, lights are all great, but you have to publicly embarrass yourself in front of all your classmates while trying to fold it up. For the cost, get an ES2 instead (it folds 1 million times easier, and has front suspension). It’s much better for college applications. For commuting, there’s an argument to be made for the F40, but having to collapse it 7 times a day with this aggravating latch makes me regret the purchase of this specific scooter. If you are questioning getting a scooter at all for university, absolutely do it. It has changed my life and I love it. I just hate it every time I have to fold it. The lack of suspension is also something that irks me, but is forgivable.I don’t know if I just got one with a bad latch or something, but it closes super easy and then holds shut with the force of a million suns. And in an awkward position where you can’t really get any leverage on it. Maybe in summer it will be easier to fold. I just wish folding was as easy as unfolding.5/13/22 UPDATE:The stalk started making an incessant creaking noise when ridden or even walked and I had to spray WD-40 all in the folding hinge to get it to stop. Seems like some poor material selection at the point of contact.

    CoolieT – April 4, 2021

I bought this a week ago as a present for myself. I work from home but like to get out for lunch just to get away from the screens. I live in an urban area that is dense with options within a mile or so from my house. Getting my car out to go to lunch always seemed a bit of overkill but sometimes walking took too long, enter the scooter.I’ve put about 16 miles on it in the first week, sometimes going somewhere specific, sometimes just cruising the neighborhood. I have literally no complaints. It is easy to operate, and at 15 mph zips me to and from my destination. Given the need to park my car I’d say the scooter is an even faster option for getting around the hood. The build quality is excellent, and I should add that I’m at the very top end of its payload range. My extra heft does mean faster battery use, but even on longer rides I make it home with battery to spare. I did a 6 mile ride the other day through my hilly neighborhood in sport mode and still had 40% battery left at the end. Yes that means I’ll never get near the advertised 18 mile range, but I don’t care. For my purposes this is perfect. A smaller person would have much greater range.

Scooter is depicted as “dark gray” but arrived with light gray deck and handlebars. Deceptive advertising.

    Tyler – April 29, 2021

Over all this a very well built scooter and is very nice to ride. The 10″ air filled tires allow the scooter to ride over poor roads and terrain quick well. It is decent to commute on and the folding mechanism is well designed. The only issue is it really really needs a bit more power for hills. Everything is fine on flat terrain and the speed is great in that situation but any incline is a challenge for it. Needs a bit more torque. Otherwise a great scooter.

    Aaron Fresinski – April 29, 2021

Overall a very good scooter. We also have a Segway ES4. This one has not only bigger tires and is overall larger – taller handles, wider board to stand on. It feels about the same weight as the ES4, but has much better performance. It gets up hills well (6’ 220lbs). And is smooth over bumps with these tires. I think it’s a hard scooter to beat for the price. I was also looking at the Unagi, but that is a couple hundred dollars more and doesn’t have an app.I like the Segway app and had zero issues losing on my iPhone 12. We now have 2 scooters linked and it’s super easy. You don’t need the app any long after setup, it can keep track of your trips, mileage stats, and you change the lights.

    J Valdez – May 5, 2021

The Segway app for its line of scooters sucks. But that’s the only thing wrong and even that’s not that terrible just underwhelming. The ride itself strikes the right balance between being of sturdy and solid quality in the materials and build verses it’s weight. Pneumonic tires are a must & while 12” are great, 10” does fine. The motor is powerful and the brake system smooth. Which all come together to provide the rider a feeling like this is an adult ride and not some mostly plastic kids’ ride. The extra battery life in Segways other models do give longer range, but 1 is just a 2nd batter you will need to change verses a true spare battery. While the other doesn’t have a hot swappable battery either it’s charges quick. As does this model. And really when are you going to ride 20miles on a scooter and back? 🤷‍♂️A lack of blinkers, a rear view mirror, or bluetooth speakers would be my only suggestion for improvement. otherwise very pleased with the product so far. Which i purchased on 11/21. 4.5 out of 5 stars

Product is un-usable, they ask you to download and install the app in order to unlock the speed past 9 mph and to get it to stop beeping. The qr code link in the manual takes you to the app store which is repeatedly tells you they they couldn’t find the app. When you look the Segway ninebot app up in the android store it does the same thing, it shows you the Segway ninebot app icon , you click it any it says it’s not available. Going to contact ama customer support to process a return tommroow. What a disappointment.

I purchased this bc I trusted the brand. Reading about other manufacturers made me suspicious especially since their descriptions had horrendous grammar and you have no idea who the company is or even if it is a real company and not a knock-off.It’s been two weeks and the handle lock doesn’t lock when you fold it down. The design of this feature is very poor. It’s just a small loop that the bell ringer clicks into. I’ve locked it in this position less than 5 times and now it no longer stays locked.I’m tempted to return it and just by an e-bike. I kinda expected more from Segway, especially for the price.

This is a nice scooter, but the range is far lower than promised. I purchased an F 40 (well, this is at least what is written on my payment receipt. There is no indication on the device which model it is. It only says “Ninebot”. I tried to locate the model through the serial number, so far no success). On the website, they promise a range of up 25 miles (40 km). I used the item for two weeks now. Each day I make a trip of about 3 miles (1.2 miles in each direction). When I returned home in the evening, the battery is close to empty. One day I had to go somewhere on my way. Another mile or two. The battery was empty by the end of the day.I am trying to contact the customer service. We’ll see how it goes.

When I first opened the box, the packaging seemed off as if it had been taken out the box before. I disregarded it thinking the packaging may have shifted while the scooter was being shipped. When I started riding the scooter the front motor made chirping sound and the rear brake disc was rubbing the pad in one spot. I guess the disc brake wasn’t true. I decided to return the scooter as I was pretty bummed out about an $800 scooter having these issues. With that being said, three of my friends who ordered the same scooter (Ninebot F40) have had zero issues and ride them almost everyday. I will be reordering the scooter and hopefully this time I will get one the lives up to the quality Segway is know for.

Cannot state this enough. Yea, the scooter is nice looking, fun to ride (all of them are). I hit a nail on the front tire, needs replacement. SURE, they give you an extra tire and tube, but, good luck fixing it. In order to even figure out how to replace it, you need to sit through endless irrelevant model youtube videos, and SPOILER ALERT, you will NOT be able to replace this tire. I am so pissed off, two days trying to get this thing on.Rides fine, again, they all do. You get in trouble and need to replace a tire you are SCREWED unless you know a professional.ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

    K.D.K.D. – June 12, 2021

We already have the kid version of the Segway and our kid really likes it so I decided to get the adult version so I could go on rides with the kiddo.Out of the box, it was 90% assembled and it only took a few minutes to get it ready. The scooter is very nice and does not look like a toy unlike the kid version. It is also much heavier and feel very sturdy. Before we did the first test drive, we downloaded the app, watched the safety video that was mandatory and then only were we allowed to have full control of the scooter and allowed to change the speed settings. The first test drive was awesome as this is a real adult scooter and it is two times faster than the kid version. Beside the speed, the ride was also much smoother thanks to the 10-inches pneumatic tires and the shock absorption. This F40 also had no problem on rough terrain and even small slopes when we took it to the park. The battery also lasts much longer and we don’t have to recharge it as often. As for the security features, the brakes worked very well and were very responsive. The front light is also a nice plus especially for the evening rides. The only thing I wish this scooter has would be a removable battery as I understand that the battery life only lasts 2-3 years before it starts degrading or need to be replaced.Overall, I am pretty happy with this Segway Ninebot F40 scooter. It is of course not comparable to the commercial type of scooters but it is perfect for my use at the beach and my short rides and it gets a solid 5 stars rating from me.

    Osprey – June 13, 2021

This is an excellent electric scooter. It goes really fast, keeps its charge for long long trips, and is a blast to ride. The air filled tires are a nice feature as it makes the ride much more comfortable than scooters with solid wheels. You have to use the app to get this working properly, but don’t really need to mess with the app at all after you get the speed settings unlocked properly the first time. Quality is excellent – scooter is very stable and very easy to ride.

I have been in the market for an electric scooter for quite some time but never bit the bullet. When I saw this model come out this year and then go on sale for the holidays I couldn’t help myself.Things to note. First I am 6’1″ and 185 pounds. Absolutely no issues with power. It has a nice acceleration that ramps up at a good pace as to not throw you. The braking is very good, just make sure you ease the handle or you will go over the handlebars. The deck you stand on is more than enough wide to get both feet next to each other if you prefer to stand that way. Battery is going to depend on how you ride ie. Speed, incline and weight. Overall it’s average of 18 miles for me cause I’m usually going fast and there are lots of hills in my area. The construction of the unit is phenomenal. It feels like a real quality piece of machinery. It’s easy enough to carry if you need to bring it inside or to shove in a trunk.Tldr: best bang for your buck

I’ve been riding the scooter almost every day for a couple of weeks, and I have to say I’m really disappointed with the battery. It’ll be 100%, after going ONE BLOCK it’s down to 90%, going around the block it’s at 80%. It only goes about 15 mph max. I live in a flat area at the beach in NJ, I weigh 230. I guess if you’re lighter you may get better mileage. But for me, I’m sorry I bought it.

I like the extra tire and inner tube. I like its rated for 18mph but I am able to get up to 30+mph. The scooter has a good kick to it (My first scooter) so it picks up speed fast. I am happy with it. Dislikes. carry a extra charger on you or leave it somewhere the faster you go the faster the battery drains. Front light is bright enough to see potholes before you hit them. Also this thing is heavy around 40lbs or so.

I use Lyft and Uber scooters twice day to cover the last two miles to and from home on my commute. It added up to about $140 a month. So this is good investment if your on the fence but still use rental scooters daily. Drop the cash on this. It’s worth it.Differences vs. RentalsThis scooter is FWD, it feels different than what your used to with the rental scooters. It absolutely doesn’t matter, and don’t let people convince you RWD is better. It doesn’t matter. They’ll state things that absolute don’t apply to a sane scooter commuter. LolThese shouldn’t be used in inclement weather or questionable surfaces anyway. But after rain is no biggie. Just be extra cautious. The stalk feels less stiff than a rental, due to the inherent weakness with the collapsible design. Nothing concerning. But you’ll notice it a little.I do not miss the rental scooters. Every morning was a dice roll of where they may be and if they are charged enough. (Not everyone is close to a nightly refreshed drop point.)Also, for winter, you’ll start with a warm scooter motor and not have to deal with slow scooters in less than 30f weather.E-brake takes some getting used to. But it works fine.Comfort: I don’t know why people get on with the suspension complaint. The ones with suspensions only mildly soften the ride and this is not a debate.*I always avoid bumps and dips anyway, but the step down from the rental isn’t that bad.(*excludes mega-scooters with full setups and 1000w dual motors and such. Obviously.)The extra speed and range are totally worth it. I almost bought the F30, but I’m glad I spent the extra for the F40.You will be too.

The 10″ air filled tires really help this scooter out (and it comes with an extra one). Battery lasts quite awhile, and speed — even for 200+ lbs is quite good and accelerates fast. We have a few other Segway scooters and the go-karts — so we’ve dealt with the app before and while its’ not great — it does work and have no issues with updates/changes (and don’t really change much after the initial setup). This is probably my favorite scooter I’ve rode — nice tires, weight is down below (no battery on the front), motor is strong, accelerates quick and stops nicely.

It is yet another solid product from Segway. I own multiple products from Segway, 2 S Plus. 2 ninebot mini, and go kart. and every single product exceeded my expectation. many Users complained about terrible app?I disagree with them, App is for convenience and for some feature management but important to bind the product. I learned hard way, but there is some issue pairing or registering your product via app if you are connected to your home wifi, turn off the wifi and it will work instantly.I do miss few option in F40 so I will be returning it to get the G630P MAX, due to charger convinience, rear wheel drive, and more mile and wider standing platform. I think it is easy to spend another 250 after you spend $700 to upgrade it to best model, but do not get me wrong, This is a beautiful scooter with plenty of miles for young kids or even for adults with average commute. Speed is more than enough and I wouldn’t drive after than the max speed with 10″ tires, I know some users got the modification done to gain more speed but it can be dangerous.I am super happy with my purchase for my 12 years old as a Christmas gift.

I received my scooter a week ago and havent ridden it too much but it was a beautiful ride and it was good at gradual inclines. The charger did break the second time I tried to use it (part of the reason why I haven’t ridden it a lot) – contact Amazon first. They solved my problem in less than 20minutes, Segway has had me waiting since last week when I reported the problem to them. They still haven’t helped me but I got a new charger on the way now.

Hi! I don’t know who to contact, but I recently I purchased this scooter and first day while riding it rained on me and moments when I got to where I was going I realized a screeching sound that was coming from the rear wheel. So what do I do because with this being a recent purchase I wasn’t expecting this. I don’t have time to be returning thing and moving around. My work requires me to be there basically everyday. I’m in the hospitality industry so I never get a chance to enjoy this scooter and the first time I want to enjoy it then this happens 🤷🏻‍♀️ … Such problems when I encounter I don’t bother myself, but throw the product away because it might hurt me on the long run or someone else if I do decide to give it to someone else.

Easy assembly, solidly built, 10-inch pneumatic tires make a big positive difference in comfort and stability. The battery is an absolute joke. We bought another Segway, cheaper model, several years ago and the battery was and is fine. It easily outlasts the battery on this new scooter. Unless you are only planning on going a total of 6-7 miles per ride before having to recharge, do not buy this scooter.

    Earth Spirits – November 15, 2021

I really do like the overall design of this scooter. It is compact, sleek and has excellent performance. The built in headlight and tail lights are very convenient. The 3 modes: ECO, Standard, and Speed do give you options for how long and what kind of power you need. They are very useful. The charger when in use gives a percentage number on the smart screen of the scooter to show the charge level. Everything feels top quality and precision manufactured. The main issue I am having with it is the App. It is absolutely required in order to use your new scooter. Without the scooter connecting via Bluetooth to the app is will remain in a “limited” mode that keeps it at half speed and power. Downloading the app was easy. Starting the app on an iPhone 11 gave a long startup time and bluetooth syncing problems. It would never discover the scooter. Installing the app on an iPhone 12 got it further along and did at least sync the scooter to the app. You will have to create an account, give location permissions, fill out your information and then watch a safety video before being able to “unlock” the scooter. I could never get the safety video to load and play. It kept buffering but would never play. Somehow after navigating around the app I was able to “glitch” it into unlocking it. Interestingly there was a firmware update and it downloaded and installed without a single issue. The app attempts to make it a fun and collaborative experience by recording your mileage, speed and riding times to give you “performance trophies” and such for using the scooter. You can share these little accomplished challenges with your friends as well as compete with them. Sounds fine and all but the basics really need to work first before moving on to these extra features. After 3 days of testing and riding I still haven’t been able to fully sync the scooter and app. I haven’t been able to change it from KMH to MPH on the speed readout. I haven’t been able to get the scooter back into bluetooth syncing mode to try to sync it with the iPhone11 that I really want to use the app on with the scooter. There just are too many bugs and the software is too glitchy. The scooter is great. The app is terrible. Since they are both required in order for you to have full use of the scooter I am going to average their scores. 5 stars for the scooter, 1 for the app, which equals 3 stars at the current moment. October 2021.

Depends on your experience. The handlebars are a little shakier than the max. It’s way faster than the Lyft scooters. I’ve gotten 50 miles down and love it.

I purchased 2 scooters on their website, both were defective, if you want support from them, it will not happen! I’ve contacted and called after I returned my scooters es45, both completely garbage scooters, I would not recommend to buy from this company, they will not honor their warranty claims or support you, they are fraud company which I have reported. I would highly advise to look for other company scooters.

So my main purpose for getting this was using it to commute to closer locations around home instead of always using gas and taking a car around. So the assembly is simple, there are a few screws that need to be turned to get the scooter up and running. Once you have that done you can get your scooter into folded mode. The scooter only fold from up to down and handles do not fold in at all.If you’re not able to lift at least 50/60 pounds this might not be very comfortable or portable for you. I do lift weights regularly and found it even difficult to walk up and down stirs to get this scooter outside. The scooter does have an app enabled ability to update the firmware and also change some setting overall on the scooter like break lights etc. The scooter does move with ease, you just kick off and press down. The toggle controls how fast you go with pulling all the way down putting you at max speeds. The breaks were solid and worked fantastic even in abrupt situations.I’m about 170lb and had no problem getting the max speed nor did I have issues riding up smaller bumps etc. Solid option for transportation.

After a month plus of pretty regular use, I’m really happy with the ease of use, quality of ride, and overall experience on my scooter. However, the battery life is nowhere near what is advertised. For example, I rode just under 3 miles on flat terrain in perfect weather with properly inflated tires, and returned home with only 30% of a charge remaining. This means it is fine for riding around the neighborhood, but would leave me with serious range anxiety if I tried to go any further.

garbage!! The first time I bought it, the charging cable with a white foreign body, I asked segway customer service and the customer service gave me the answer that it was damaged, so I went to Amazon to return it. Everything is good by now. amazon gave me a new one, however the new one is still have white thing, this time even the scooter body also have that. It’s heavy on its own, and i don’t have car, needs an Uber to pull to return it. Twice uber money plus packaging wasted my time and money. Absolutely don’t buy it, it’s all a bad scooter.

I bought this scooter a couple of months ago. I loved it, it was fun and useful. My front tire popped and I have no clue on how to replace it. I messaged them, Segway, and they gave me your typical bs. They take for ever to reply or they don’t reply at all. I have sent them over a dozen emails they just don’t care. The back tire is easy to replace but the front one is another thing. I live in Los Angeles and there’s no where I could take it to get repaired. It waste of money. Segway is rip off don’t buy unless your a mechanic/engineer. Remember tires need to be replaced but to remove it is no easy task and they know this. Segway doesn’t care.

I have owned several scooters, including other Ninebot scooters. I like them so much that I ordered this model as a replacement for an older model. I like that the base you stand on is slightly larger than my other Ninebots, that it comes with air-filled tires rather than solid tires, and that it has a separate rear hand brake rather than having only a front motor brake and a rear, foot activated, fender brake. I never liked the fender brakes that are activated by pressing the fender down with your foot since they are less stable than other braking options.Assembly is easy. The only component needing assembled is the handlebar. After ensuring that the two ends of the communications cable were connected, the handlebar is inserted into the support tube and held in place with four screws. Since the scooter has air-filled tires, be sure to inflate the tires to the recommended 40-45 PSI. Both tires were low on air, so they needed to be filled. A warning bell came attached to the handlebar. A surprise inclusion that was not mentioned anywhere in the listing is a spare tire and tube. Hopefully, it will never be needed, but having a spare is a real bonus. One accessory missing that the scooter really should include is a mobile phone holder. A mount is available separately from Segway. The scooter can be easily folded for storage or for carrying with the release of a latch. The scooter came with a 68% charge on the battery, so it was ready to operate without needing to be charged. Unless the scooter is activated, it will operate at a restricted performance level. The activation process entails downloading the Segway Ninebot app, creating an account, and linking your mobile device via Bluetooth to the scooter, and viewing a mandatory slideshow that walks through the scooter’s safety and operating procedures. The slideshow moves fairly rapidly, which makes it difficult to read everything that is presented. Anything that is missed can be found in the manual. At this point, the scooter is ready to operate without any restrictions. The only features that can be set by the scooter itself are the speed modes and turning on and off the headlight. All of the scooter’s advanced features are controlled by the app. Once the settings are set through the app, the scooter will retain those settings unless they are later changed. Options available through the app include changing the speed display from kph to mph, enabling cruise control, enabling regenerative power recovery, setting the scooter’s lighting options, and electronically locking the scooter. I struggled with finding where to change the speed display from the default kph to mph, and the manual was of no help. It is buried in the “Me” section’s Settings option. This is a failure by Segway since this important setting should be located in the scooter’s settings section, or it should be clearly noted in the manual exactly where it can be found. There are many who have commented about not finding where to make this change. The cruise control feature allows for the scooter to maintain a set speed on its own without needing to keep the accelerator lever pressed. This is activated when the scooter’s speed has been stabilized for 5 seconds. It will disconnect if either the accelerator or the brake lever is pressed. The regenerative power recovery option provides both an additional braking action on the front wheel, and a little bit of recharging of the battery. The scooter’s lighting options include three options for the rear light. The rear light can be set for always on, always on at low intensity then bright whenever the brake is applied, or off until the brake is applied then it will blink rapidly. When operating the scooter, the app displays technical data about the scooter such as range, battery capacity, and total miles ridden. It can also be used for trip reporting. This feature, using GPS, will map your ride and will report riding time, miles ridden, and maximum speed. Unfortunately, since the scooter does not include a mobile phone holder, this information is not available for viewing while riding the scooter. There is a lock feature that will electronically lock the scooter from operating, helping to prevent theft. When activated, it puts a little bit of power to the front wheel to keep it from rolling freely. The app gives a warning if the scooter is rolled. Obviously, this will not prevent theft, but it will prevent someone from simply riding away with it.The scooter’s display shows its speed, battery capacity, power mode, and whether it is connected to Bluetooth. There are three power modes: ECO, standard, and sport. ECO mode restricts the scooter to low speeds and low acceleration, standard mode is for moderate performance, and sport mode is for maximum performance. Frankly, I did not see any difference in performance between the standard and sport modes. The scooter did not struggle at all with my 210 pound husband in any of the modes. The scooter rides as smoothly and quietly as can be, as long as you are on a fairly even surface. The ride does get a bit bumpy if you are on an uneven surface, although the air-filled pneumatic tires do improve the ride in these conditions over the solid tire models. I noticed a slight whine when the scooter reached about 17 mph. I do not know where this sound is coming from. The regenerative braking action is very effective and slows the scooter down quite well even without using the handle brake. When using the handle brake (even with the regenerative brake off) there was more of a nose-dive effect than I was expecting. With this being a rear brake, I was not expecting this kind of response. It is not a problem, just something that I need to adjust to.As with all scooters with a similar design, it is a bit unstable if you try to cross over a lip in the road. For example, if you turn into a driveway that is slightly elevated from the road level, you will definitely feel a bump, and if the lip is high enough you could flip if not careful. Remember, although the tires are bigger than some scooters, at 10 inches, unlike bicycle tires, they will not easily roll over obstacles or loose gravel or rock surfaces. I am cautious when riding to avoid conditions like these. I strongly recommend wearing a helmet when riding this scooter. It is exceptionally well-built and stable, but you just never know when something might go wrong. With a 210 pound man, the scooter’s maximum speed was 18 mph, which is slightly below the manufacturer’s 18.6 mph claim, but since this is close to the recommended maximum weight capacity of 220 pounds, I would say that this result meets expectations. Since I have not yet used this scooter for extended distances, I cannot verify the claimed range of 25 miles. Of course, looking at the small print, this range was determined under ideal conditions and with a moderate weight rider, so I think that you would be lucky to actually achieve a 25 mile range.Overall, this is a great scooter, and it will be a good replacement for my current Ninebot.

We have had the Segway Ninebot F40 scooter for four months now. We bought it in December 2021 as a Christmas present for my son. He uses it as his daily commuter to school about a mile away and all over the place on weekends. I use it randomly to zip around for fun or to take our dog on runs (he’s fast). It has run flawlessly. My son is 5’3″ and 110 lbs. I am 5’8? and 200 lbs. We can both get it to full speed of over 18 mph. That is plenty fast for me. It’s super fun. The acceleration is fine. Disc brakes are great. The steel frame is superior to aluminum. It provides strength and flexibility. Combined with the 10″ air filled tires, the ride is much better than on the solid tires on other electric scooters I have used. The steel frame has an added bonus of providing a hole to pass a cable lock through. The build is rock solid, including the folding mechanism lock. I attempted to tighten all the bolts after 3 months of use, but discovered none had loosened except the bolts that hold the handlebars onto the downtube. Ironically, that is the one part you have to attach yourself. I added Loctite to these bolts. It comes with a spare tire and tube which is a nice touch. I used Flatout https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X6JSXB8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 in case of leaks and peace of mind.I had no problem connecting to the app using an iPhone 13 Pro Max. It connected to the scooter through bluetooth automatically and seamlessly. I only used the app once to set it up and have not had a need to use the app again. I think they should not require the app to set up the scooter. It’s just an unnecessary marketing hook. The weakest part of the design is the mechanism to keep the scooter folded. There is a hook on the rear fender and a loop which is part of the bell. It is plastic. The bell loop hooks onto the rear fender hook. It’s sketchy. I have read other reviews that say the hook no longer catches. This happened to me and I discovered that the bell came loose from the handlebar slightly such that it turned a bit in place and no longer aligned to hook onto the fender. I adjusted the position by turning it slightly and tightening the hex bolt. I haven’t had problems since.I would definitely purchase again based on build quality, smooth ride, and overall performance.

So iv heard a couple people complain about the battery life and I wanted to see if I could help resolve it as I have found Some reasons why u might not be getting your full range. My first observation Is that when charging It shows the battery percentage on the information screen and when it gets to 100% it turns off but the light on the charger is still red for almost 20 minutes after the scooter says it’s fully charged. I think it gives the scooter a good top charge after it’s reached almost full. Second if you do a lot of stops and starting this takes a lot more power if your cruising at a contestant speed which can lower your range. 3rd would be slight inclines. And incline will draw more power as the scooter is trying to work harder to maintain speed. Hope this helps some people

I changed 4 Nineboot scooters and I am sick and tired of wasting time!I have recorded miles I ride every day – on google maps & compared to what scooter displays. This, because I noticed that battery gets on a half after riding only 3 miles!!Google maps show accurate timeline and distance, but the scooter Segway app shows double more!At this point, this is great for the lawsuit for cheating on people, making false descriptions and also an app – only for profit!I am totally done!UPDATE: After I tested 3 of these, I confirm that all of them do not run over 7-8 MAX miles with battery charge.Tomorrow is 2 weeks as I am waiting for Amazon to refund my money I spent on this fake advertised product. Not fair, not Ok.

I’m pretty pleased with the Segway. I had two Gotrax scooters that only went 15mph and a range of about 5 mi for a guy that’s 5’10”, 210lbs. On the Segway, I was able to reach 18mph and go about 15 miles before recharging. I still have more testing to do on mileage but pretty happy with it. I also like that the handlebars are higher than the Gotrax and it is very well built. Very sturdy ride!

    Dash Dalrymple – March 16, 2022

I got this scooter primarily for a short, one-mile roundtrip commute to/from the metro (24 minutes of walking vs 4 minutes of riding a scooter really adds up week after week). I wanted a scooter that was at least 18 mph, can get at least 15 miles of range (the more the better, though), and that I could easily lock to a bike rack. For me, it ultimately came down between this scooter and the Ninebot Max.I ultimately chose this one for one reason: the frame near the front wheel splits in half (two bars) on this scooter vs the single bar on the Ninebot Max, meaning it would be a lot easier for me to secure a U-type bike lock to it. It was also slightly cheaper, about $100 or so.I’ve had this scooter for about five months now, and have zero complaints for what I paid for and how I use it. It picks up speed fairly quick and holds a good charge. I’ve taken it on a couple longer trips (about 8 miles roundtrip), which drains the battery to about 50%. For how I ride (usually on sport mode), I’d estimate the range at about 16 miles. The speed does decrease significantly with both wind and/or any sort of incline. If this is something you plan to ride every day for at least a mile or two, and/or you plan to ride in an area with significant elevation change, I’d recommend looking into something with a more powerful motor/battery. This thing can slow down to a crawl (about 5 mph) going uphill, and sometimes comes to a complete stop for really steep climbs. Also, strong winds can slow you down on flat terrain to about 10-12 mph. However, for my light use, this thing is perfect. I take it to/from the metro, sometimes to the grocery store, and on a good day I’ll take it to the gym (about 4 miles away). It’s nice to ride outside, save money on gas, and not worry about parking. I’m definitely more of just a casual rider. Thankfully, too, my area has a lot of rentable scooters throughout town, so I’m personally not as worried about my scooter getting stolen (although I use a high-quality Kryptonite u-lock every time).
